✈️ Airport Makes Travel More Accessible
Thunder Bay's Airport is making travel easier and kinder by adopting the Sunflower Lanyard program! This fantastic initiative helps staff quietly recognize travelers with hidden disabilities and offer respectful, thoughtful assistance. It’s great to see our local travel hub becoming an even more welcoming and supportive place! 💛
⚖️ Supreme Court Judges Visit T-Bay
We got a major visit this week as Supreme Court of Canada judges stopped by Thunder Bay as part of their 150th-anniversary tour! The visit included meeting with Indigenous leaders, high school students, and members of the local legal community. It was a wonderful opportunity for T-Bay's voice to be heard by the country's highest court! 🏛️
🚌 Care Bus is Back for the Winter!
The essential Care Bus has officially returned to our roads to provide vital mobile outreach services for the colder months. This incredible service offers warm drinks, snacks, and connections to essential social services for our most vulnerable citizens. Knowing this resource is actively helping folks navigate the tough weather is truly positive news for our community! 💚
🎓 Lakehead University Honours Indigenous Veterans
Lakehead University held a meaningful ceremony to honour the incredible service and sacrifices made by Indigenous Veterans across the region. Events like these are so important for recognizing the historical contributions of Indigenous peoples to our country's defense. It’s inspiring to see the university helping to share this vital history right here in T-Bay. 🌟
🌱 New Forum Teaches Students to 'Dream Big'
What great news for our young people! The inaugural Ignace Nuclear Youth Symposium was held, encouraging students to explore new career skills and "dream big" about their futures. Giving students the tools and inspiration they need is a fantastic step for building up T-Bay's next generation of leaders! 💡
🎞️ Historical Film Festival Celebrates Homegrown Stories
For our arts and culture fans, the Third Annual Historical Film Festival took place, showcasing homegrown history at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium!
